#LFC | Liverpool Beat Man City To Reach Champions League Semi-Final

Liverpool Football Club have reached the semi-final of the Champions League after beating Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

The reds had to fight back from a goal down after conceding in the second minute after Gabriel Jesus punished a lapse in concentration from Virgil Van Dijk.

Liverpool's had backs to the wall in a first half of total domination by Manchester City although the Merseysider's recovered from their early mistakes to keep the score at 1-0 going into half time but not before another goal that never was moment changed the tie.

Manchester City had a goal disallowed for offside with a decision that will only happen once in a life-time.

Liverpool's fans thought the worst on the stroke of half time as the ball was plundered into the net by Leroy Sane after Lorius Karius failed to get any distance or height after coming to punch a cross.

The ball rebounded off James Milner into the path of Sane who was on-side when he tucked the ball away.

The goal was ruled out to the anger of Pep Guardiola who was sent to the stands at half-time by the match official.

Liverpool who had been under constant pressure during the entire first half came out and controlled the ball better for the first five minutes after the restart, remaining calm in play they contained possession and calmed the nerves of the fans then BANG we scored and it was Mo again.

The main reason Liverpool are so formidable this season has been down to team work, but the killer instinct of Mo Salah whose goal was his 40th of the season has added that extra edge to the reds who are now a very outfit by merit.

After the goal left City deflated at needing to score another four in the second half, Liverpool looked like they would go on to record a victory at The Etihad.

Roberto Firmino stepped up to the mark to send Liverpool fans into scenes of jubilation after his winner confirmed another European semi-final for this magical club who just can not keep out of the Champions League headlines after returning to the competition for the first time since 2014.

The final whistle put Manchester City fans who stayed out of their misery as many empty blue seats could be seen around the stadium with fifteen minutes to go.

The victory now places Liverpool in the draw with Roma who had a sensational 3-0 win against Barcelona to over-turn a 4-1 first leg loss to go through against huge odds at the Olympic Stadium, Rome.

The second round of quarter finals will see Real Madrid take on Juventus at home and Bayern Munich Host Spanish outfit Sevilla before the semi final draw on Friday.
